On day two of our Roman Adventure we took a tour of the Vatican.
Max was pretty excited about my headset for hearing our tour guide. He tried putting in my eye......
in his mouth.....
then finally realized something amazing happened when he put it in his ear;-)

Max loved the nativity scene in Saint Peter's Basilica.
He was pretty impressed with the ceilings too.
This picture was taken in one of the galleries in the museum.
As a breast feeding mother I found this statue of fertility rather amusing.

Max enjoyed some of the Roman street musicians. This guy was playing a sheep bladder bagpipe.....
Just a regular old saxophone here...
Max likes putting money in their cups;-)

More fabulous fruits and veggies at the market.
A great bread and pizza place in our neighborhood.
Max and I peek out the window of our apt.

We rented an apt in Rome for the week we were there just off Campo di Fiore where there is a farmers market every morning. This was great for our daily fruit and vegetable needs, but not so great hearing the trucks set up every morning.
Max and Gramby reunited had lots of fun;-)
Max claims the walking streets of Rome.
Here we are with Ann's good friend Suzanne Dunaway. She is a columnist and cookbook writer of one of my favorite cookbooks "Rome at Home," she was a fabulous guide for showing us around the Campo di Fiore market and the best places to get our daily bread, prosciutto and cheese needs met.

Max on the bus on the way to the Venice airport to fly to Rome.
We were pretty surprised that there was sooooo much snow. I later learned that was the biggest snow fall in the past 10 years. Not so great for others traveling around Europe. My dad and Ann got in about 10 hours late;-( Luckily Max and I had no problem with our flight to Rome.
